DECnet for Linux FAQ

By Patrick Caulfield patrick@users.sourceforge.net

v1.42, 5th July 2007
This FAQ aims to answer common questions about using DECnet on Linux machines. I recommend you read it before submitting questions to the mailing list as it may save you (and others) a lot of time. As a general rule there are no general DECnet related questions here (eg on using DECnet with OpenVMS, Ultrix or SunOS) as that information is available from the respective vendors. The FAQ mentions OpenVMS as the "other" operating system most of the time - that's because the DECnet programs are primarily aimed at OpenVMS users and mainly because that's the only DEC DECnet system I have available to me. DECnet, VMS, OpenVMS and Ultrix are trademarks of HP, SunOS is a trademark of Sun Microsystems, Linux is a trademark of Linus Torvalds
