DN address in Kernel 2.2.12

Hello,

Per a suggestion from Mr. William Webb I created a file
(/etc/init.d/decnet) that called ifconfig with my MAC address and put it
in /etc/rcS.d/S12decnet. This got my DECnet address installed properly
now.

When I call dnprogs at /etc/rcS.d/S39dnprogs just after the file systems
are mounted and before any other network items are called, I get the
following errors.

STARTING DECNET: ioctl: Invalid argument
error starting socket layer

/proc/sys/net/decnet/

default_device is empty (?? should be eth0)
node_address 0.0 ( should be 1.2)
node_name ??? ( should be gville)

/proc/net/

decnet 0.0 --- --- open defered
decnet_cache is empty
decnet_dev lo (should also list eth0)
decnet_neigh 0.0 (should also list 1.1 & 1.2)
decnet_raw is empty

A restart (/etc/init.d/dnprogs restart) gives the error.

/usr/sbin/dnmirror file not found

I do not have dnmirror anywhere on my system. I tried installing
dnprogs_2.01-1_i386.deb instead of dnprogs_2.03-1_i386.deb with the same
results.

Any decnet command gives the error.

Socket: no route to host

This and sound are the last items I have to setup since moving to kernel
2.2.12. Any further help would be most appreciated. TIA.
