Latest DECnet Patch (and Code Freeze)
Hi,
with the recent release of linux-2.3.39, the kernel is fully updated
with the latest DECnet code (minus the bug which Patrick Caulfield
reported recently). This code will form the basis of the DECnet code
for the whole of the 2.4.xx kernel series. There will be no more major
feature additions or interface changes until at least 2.5.xx now.
There are probably many bugs in the current code though, most of them in
the routing code. If you have a spare moment, then please test a 2.3.39+
kernel with DECnet, as I'd like to make it as stable as possible before
2.4. comes out.
There is one outstanding issue which I cannot easily deal with at the
moment. That is that problem of debugging DECnet on big-endian architectures.
If anybody is happy to take this on as a project, please let me know as
it would be a great help at this stage,
Steve.
