Sorry about that, misrepresenting you.

When I did (a very little) work on a PDP 11/70 in prehistoric times (well. early 80s actually) we were able to SET HOST from VMS (3.6 it was) and there was a program called RVT that did the reverse.

Um, I wish, but not quite.  It supports RSTS and TOPS-20, but not
RSX.  Some of the skeleton is there but none of what's needed to do
the actual job.  I have just barely started the reverse engineering needed to figure out what the RSX support looks like -- and I have no RSX system to test it against...  I expect I'll do at least the analysis, and perhaps the coding, but someone else will have to do the debugging.
