it was working better than any previous patch (even the X-servers
were working again). I'm very anxious to make sure that it is working
before 2.4.xx comes out.
Probably you need to make sure that the MAC address of your card
is set manually before the interface is used for the first time.
That is what usually causes the problems, because thats not actually
required in the case that you have a network card (like tulip) with the
older kernel patches which has a perfect hash filter.
If your ethernet card does not show up in /proc/decnet_dev then you'll
not be able to set it as the default device. The kernel uses the list
in /proc/decnet_dev as the list of "valid DECnet interfaces". There
is a text file in the linux/Documentation/networking directory which
describes what you need to do to set up the MAC address etc.,
